Store Circular

WAGS or Walgreens Coupons
Those are coupons in the weekly circular. You only need one coupon for the all items, e.g. last week Walgreens coupons for Dawn Dish Liquid in the circular for $.99. I bought two of those since I had two other MFQ but only had to use one Walgreen Coupon. I don't cut those coupons out anymore but show the cashier the paper.

EasySaver Catalog Coupons
This catalog full of coupons can be found in the store. Those are in-store coupons and can be combined with MFQ's. Usually you can only do one transactions per coupon so I recommend to do multiple transactions if you need more than one of that item.

Register Rewards (RR)
Register Rewards are manufacturer coupons that print out with your receipt. When you purchase an item that will earn you RR's you can use coupons. And you can use those RR's for other items that will earn you you RR's but not one the same item, e.g. when you buy Schick Razor and earn $3 RR's. Next you will buy some Exedrin, you use those $3 RR's and earn let's say $4 RR's. You can not use those RR's to buy more Razors and earn more RR's on that. I'm not sure what will happen but I assume they just won't print.

EasySaver Rebates
In the back part of the EasySaver Catalog you will find the EasySaver Rebates. Usually those are good for the entire month but check the dates just to be save. If you buy certain items you have a good chance to get those for free with those rebates. To get your rebate simply submit the form online or mail it in. I do it online because it's a lot quicker. They have 2 options on how to get your rebate. You can have a check mailed to you or you can have the rebate put on a Walgreens gift card. If you choose the second option Walgreens will give you an additional 10%. Use coupons on those rebates to maximize your savings.

Store Circular

CVS Extra Care Rewards Card
Apply for this card in store or online. By doing it in the store you will be able to have the card immediatly instead of having to wait for it to come in the mail.

CRT coupons
Coupons printed at the end of your receipt. Those can not be reset by calling CVS like you can with the EB's (see below) once they are expired.
Extra Care Coupons
Those are coupons printed off the Red Price Scanner in the store. When you go to CVS go to the scanner and scan your CVS card. It will print out CVS store coupons.

BOGO sale
The CVS coupon policy allows you to stack coupons for each item but it is up to the store manager to accept both coupons on BOGO items.

Stacking Copons
Stacking means you can use a Manufacturer’s coupons and a CVS coupon. But you need to be careful not to waste any overage since the CVS registers are programmed to not allow any overage. If the cashier is ringing up your coupons and the last coupon will go over your amount you will hear a beep sound. The cashier can manually modify the amount to the max value.

Extra Care Bucks or Extra Bucks (ECB/EB)
Extra Bucks are like cash that print out at the end of your receipt for the purchase of certain items. At the end of each quarter, CVS gives you back an additional 2% of the total amount that you spent during that quarter. The 2% is calculated after coupons. CVS also gives you back $1 for every 2 prescriptions filled at CVS. That $1 is reflected in your quarterly EB total.
You can also earn EB through promotions like “Buy $20 of Revlon Cosmetics, receive $10 in EB.” The required amount to receive the EB is calculated before coupons. You can purchase those items in different transaction and don't have to buy all items in that particular promotion in the same transaction as long as you buy them while the promotion is valid. It will take 48 hours for the EB's to print. You might see those EB's on your online account before but that is not a guarantee that they will print before the 48.

Items you can not purchase with EB's:
Prescriptions
Alcohol
Tobacco
Gift Cards

EB's expire after 4 weeks from the date they are printed on your receipt, meaning your EB's print on January 1st at 4pm, they will expire on January 28th at 4pm. So if you go into the store on January 28th at 6pm, the EB's will beep. The manager can manually input it for you since it's not past the expiration date yet.

If your EB's do expire, you can call CVS at 1-800-SHOP-CVS and they can reset them for you.

You can also print your EB's online. But they will only print once, either online OR in the store. You can print them mulitiple times online but they will only scan once. At most CVS stores the sales for the following week go into affect late saturday. You can get the items on sale but you can not get any EB's towards that purchase.

Extra Care Bucks booklet
This booklet features all monthly deals and is available at the store usually in the pharmacy area. Or just ask :)

Coupon handling
Have cashier scan your card first, then hand over coupons like $5/$20, then in-store coupons, then MF coupons and last but not least your ECB's.

Rolling EB
A lot of CVS shoppers roll their EB's, meaning that they use their EB's from a previous purchase towards ongoing promotions. I personally have yet to do that so I hope I can explain it correctly as it was explained to me once.

For example:
CVS has a promotion going on like "Buy $20 worth of Garnier products and earn $20". The conditioner is on sale for $4 and you have $1.50/1 in MFQ's.
5x Garnier Conditioner at $4 each => $20
- $4/20 => $16
- 5 $1.50/1 => $8.50 OOP

Then in 48 hours you can print your $20 EB's. Purchase something small for you EB's to print and do it again.
10xGarnier products at $4 each => $40
- $4/20 => $36
- 10x $1.50/1 => $21
- $20 EB's => $1

And then in the next 48 hours your $40 EB's will print. You can do that as long as the promotion is going earning alot in EB's.

Clearance Items
You generally can use coupons on items that are on clearance.

Dear Julie Ewing,

Thank you for contacting kmart.com.
We apologize for the inconvience of trying to use the coupons. The policy is that you can use coupons at all our stores, however each store may have a different policy on the use or amount of the use of coupons. I would highly recommend contacting the local store in Matamoras and speak to the manager to get better clarification. We apologize for any frustration and inconvience this has caused.

Look for great bargains throughout the store and find Kmart exclusive brands like Martha Stewart Everyday, Thalia Sodi, Joe Boxer, Route 66 and Jaclyn Smith.

Below are general guidelines regarding Walgreens Coupon policy. I have also sent an email to Corporate their coupon policy on 04/09.

Coupon FAQ's

Use the information below to ensure that your store is following the
appropriate policy when accepting both Walgreens and manufacturer
coupons.

Can a customer use both a Manufacturer's coupon and Walgreens coupon
for the same item in a purchase?

One Walgreen and one manufacturer coupon can be used for the same
item, unless either coupon prohibits such use.
Walgreens Roto Ad Coupons, Instant Value Coupons (IVC), and a
manufacturer's coupon can be used towards the purchase of any one item.
"One coupon per purchase" means one coupon must be tendered for each
PIECE sold.

What happens if the Manufacturer coupon's value is more than the retail
value?
Walgreens does not provide cash back if a coupon is presented for more
than the purchase value of the item (e.g., the customer is using the coupon

to purchase a clearance item).
If the retail of the item is less than the face value of the coupon:
the coupon value shall be the retail value if the state requires taxes to
be
paid on that item,
the coupon value shall be the retail value plus taxes if the state does not

require taxes to be paid on the item.

Can a customer use a coupon after a sale has been made?
All valid coupons must be presented to the cashier at the time of sale
only!

If there is no quantity limit on a Walgreens coupon can a manager impose
his/her own limit?
Yes, managers have the right to limit the quantities of all advertised
items.

Does Walgreens price match or accept coupons from other retailers?
Walgreens does not price match with other retailer.
Walgreens does not accept coupons from other retailers or coupons for
products not carried in our stores.
Walgreens does not accept expired coupons.

A customer purchased an item using a manufacturer's coupon and wants
to return it. At what price do we return the item?
If an item purchased with a manufacturer's coupon is returned, the
customer will get the retail price of the item. If the customer purchased
an
item with a Walgreens coupon, the customer receives the price paid.
Example 1: If the retail price for an item is $1.49 and the manufacturers
coupon was 25¢ off, the refund amount would be $1.49 plus tax.

Example 2: If the retail price for an item is $1.49 and the Walgreens
coupon
was 25¢ off, the refund amount would be $1.24 plus tax.

Stores are not required to keep Roto ad coupons. What about Instant Value
Coupons?
For Instant Value Coupons, stores receive credit from the manufacturer
ONLY if the coupon is scanned. Once an IVC coupon has been scanned
and the transaction is finished, you can discard the coupon.

A customer had a coupon with no limit on it and is trying to buy an item
that is "buy one get one free," how many times are we allowed to scan a
coupon for this purchase?
Only one coupon can be used when a customer is purchasing a Buy 1 Get
1 free item, because the customer is only purchasing one item.

Dear Julie Ewing,

Thank you for contacting CVS/pharmacy ExtraCare regarding the use of Extra Buck coupons and offers at the register.

Our registers are set to allow 1 CVS coupon and 1 manufacturer coupon per item. CVS Extra Buck coupons are earned when you make a qualifying purchase. These print out instantly at the register upon reaching the threshold for the offer. Free coupons or “offers at the register” are unearned and issued to you as a valued member of the CVS/pharmacy ExtraCare program. These coupons take the form of “open ended” coupons such as $3 off $15 or a certain dollar amount off a specific item. In any given transaction our registers will allow only one “open ended” coupon per transaction and more than one Extra Buck coupon provided the purchase threshold has been met for each offer amount on a per-transaction basis.

If we can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us either by e-mail or by calling 1-800-746-7287.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Sincerely,
Kimberly

Below is a copy of an email which was sent to another couponer.

Dear ....

Thank you for taking the time to contact CVS/pharmacy with your inquiry regarding CVS/pharmacy coupon policies and proceedures. I hope that the following information will help to clarify things for your group.

We value our savvy coupon shoppers at CVS/pharmacy. As of June 2007 however, we are no longer accepting expired coupons.

Like many companies, we cheerfully reset expired coupons for many years to accommodate our wonderful customers. The recent change in proceedure can only be attributed to loss prevention.

CVS/pharmacy will accept coupons printed from the Internet.

They must have a legible barcode that scans at the register.

If the coupon does not scan at the register, the cashier should politely inform you that we are unable to accept your coupon. We do not allow manual overrides at the register for coupons printed from the Internet.

Our registers are set to allow 1 CVS coupon and 1 manufacturer coupon per item. However, the staff should be allowing customers to use Extra Bucks in combination with other CVS coupons since these are coupons you have “earned.”

In addition, similarly they should be allowing the use of “offer at the register” coupons which would be an open offer of $3 off of $15 or a certain dollar amount off of a specific item.

Since our registers are programmed to only accept 2 coupons (1 CVS, 1 manufacturer) per item if the number of coupons exceed the items purchased a member of management will need to assist the cashier in processing the coupons.

I apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

But once again, I thank you for contacting us. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us again.
Sincerely,
...

Dear Ms. Ewing,

Thank you for emailing ShopRite. We appreciate the opportunity to respond.

We spoke with all three stores that you were requesting the coupon policies from. Both the ShopRite of Middletown and Montague have the same policy were they double everyday unless the coupon states do not double. They double coupons up to $.99. Anything beyond that value will be face value and does not double. The store also permits four coupons per the same item. For example, if you have five coupons for Turkey Hill Iced Tea and want to purchase six containers, the store will allow four coupons to be used and you pay full value for the fifth container.
As for the ShopRite of Stroudsburg, they have a different coupon policy. You must spend a minimum $10.00 in order to be allowed to have your coupons doubled. They double coupons up to $.99 everyday and face value beyond that. The store does not permit four coupons per the same item, they allow only three. Same situation as before with the Turkey Hill, you would be allowed to use three of the coupons and double them but pay face value for the other two containers.
We hope that this was helpful for you explaining our coupon policy.
If we can be of any assistance in the future, please let us know.

Sincerely,

Alaina A.

Dear Julie Ewing,

If you have any questions about a specific coupon or experience using a coupon at Target, we want to help! Please give our Guest Relations team a call at (800) 440-0680. We'll do the best we can to help you as quickly as possible. For your call, please provide a team member with the following reference number: 1-382079314.

In the meantime, I'd like to share with you some information about our coupon policy. When accepting coupons, we use the following guidelines:

- We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued and manufacturer-issued.
- We'll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
- We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item; in this case, we're able to adjust the value of the coupon to equal the price of the item.
- We can't accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.-
All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier while you're checking out.

Thanks for writing. Give us a call if there's anything else we can do to help.

Sincerely,

Daniel
